Meet Our Founder

Jamie Giani, founder of Third Branch Solutions, started her career with the federal judiciary as a law clerk, spending 6 years as a career clerk before joining a capital habeas unit as an assistant federal public defender, litigating last-chance, death-penalty appeals in federal court. As an AFPD, Jamie was awarded the John Paul Stevens Guiding Hand of Counsel award by the American Bar Association Death Penalty Representation Project, recognizing extraordinary efforts and achievements in service to death-sentenced clients for representing (with the Arkansas CHU) 8 men set to be executed in an unprecedented 10-day time period with 2 months' notice.
Jamie rejoined the courts as Chief Deputy for the Western District of Arkansas and then served as Clerk of Court until August 2022, serving nationally on the District Clerk's Advisory Group and the Pro Se Working Group for the Administrative Office of the Courts (AO). After moving with her family to Florida, Jamie worked as an attorney advisor for the Middle District of Florida. She then took the opportunity to work with the AO on the Case Management Modernization (CMM) effort, joining the project team on a temporary duty basis as Customer Engagement Lead. During her year and a half with the AO, Jamie led a small team responsible for building out a dedicated SharePoint site for the CMM effort; developed numerous presentations, live town halls, a newsletter, and many other strategic communication initiatives; drafted a plan for working with pilot courts; and produced an initial change-management strategy to guide the CMM effort through implementation.
Throughout her career, Jamie noticed gaps and pain points in judiciary service where she wished courts had more support or access to different resources. She is analytical by nature and loves asking "why do we do it this way" and "how can we make this better?" Jamie is also a passionate advocate for fostering wellbeing in the workplace. Overall, Jamie built Third Branch Solutions out of a desire to (1) make the judiciary work better and (2) make the judiciary a better place to work by (3) bringing former judiciary employees together to fill current court needs.
Jamie and her husband, Patricio, have 3 children: Nora, Millie, and Gio. Millie died suddenly in October 2019 at age 5. Jamie has since been transparent about her struggles with grief and has been an outspoken advocate of mental health awareness and support in the workplace. In her free time, Jamie enjoys spending time with her family, reading (fiction and non-fiction), and narrating audiobooks.
